Research areas

Entomology, ecology, ordination and multifactorial analysis, soil fauna, colonization of pioneer environments, urban ecology, agroforestry.

Benoît Vanhée is an entomologist in the ecology and biodiversity team of the S2C laboratory (Smart and Sustainable Cities, Faculty of Management, Economics and Sciences, Université Catholique de Lille), where he is co-leader of the “animal biodiversity” axis.

Since 2011, he has been conducting research on the colonization capacities of soil-related animal species in agricultural and urban pioneer environments.

His work is characterized by a constant reflection on the link between the preservation of heritage and functional biodiversity and the development of owners to preserve ecosystem services.
