Call for Papers: Smart And Sustainable Cities Conference: Economics, Finance & Management of Sustainability
May 20-21, 2021 at Lille Catholique University, France.
On behalf of the SSC-2020 scientific and organizing committees, you are cordially invited to attend the third conference on Smart & Sustainable Cities. The conference will take place in Lille, France, May 20-21, 2021.
This conference will focus on the challenging energy transition issues and the role of Smart Cities in shaping socioeconomic and environmental aspects at global scale. More precisely, it aims at providing an international overview of the many faces of Smart-Cities, including smart mobility, social innovation, sustainable resilient buildings, energy and water management, energy efficiency, clean energies deployment, and smart grids and storage. This conference will be the place to debate and exchange ideas between experts and professionals engaged in academia, by the government, in national and international organizations.
The specific objective of this conference is to obtain a clearer understanding of the role played by Smart-Cities, ICT Technologies and Platforms for Smart Cities, smart mobility, energy efficiency, and green energy in addressing key energy and environmental challenges facing humanity.

Professor Stef Proost
Stef Proost is full professor at the KU Leuven, and visiting professor at the Center for Transport Studies (KTH Stockholm). At the KU Leuven he teaches transport, environmental and energy economics at the Faculty of Economics and Business and at the Engineering Faculty. He is director of a group of 8 researchers at the Center for Economic Studies that deals with environment, energy and transport topics. He is co-founder of the Energy Institute of the KU Leuven and co-founder of the spin-off Transport Mobility Leuven (TML)). He is interested in public policy questions: optimal pricing and investment in transport, choice of policy instruments for environmental policy, energy pricing questions.
Professor Isam Shahrour
Distinguished Professor at Lille University ;
Director of the Civil and geo-Environmental Engineering Research Laboratory (LGCgE) ;
Former Vice President of the University Lille 1 for “Research” (2007-2012).

SSC-2020 warmly welcomes research contributions from various fields, including economics, environmental & social sciences, management, urban & regional planning, computer science, engineering and energy related studies, as well as from the professional community. Sessions organizers have to take charge of all the details including the quality of the papers presented.
